Brummel hooks are known from sailing. According to the same principle, the Finsterwald Brummel hooks specially developed for the paraglider industry are manufactured. The Finsterwalder Brummelhaken is used to prohibit the speed system (foot accelerator) attached to the strap with the paraglider and is therefore also called speed system hooks. Almost all paraglider manufacturers use Finsterwalder Brummel hooks.
