The Zeno has been at the top of the EN-D class for many years, and it was clear to us that it would not be easy to replace. But after two years of intensive research & design work, we have now developed a worthy successor.
Our main focus was to preserve the legendary comfort and simple handling of the Zeno. Therefore, the ZENO 2 has the same number of cells, the same extension and more passive security- an improved reaction to front and side flaps.
The new technology of the profile of our Zeno 2 includes a higher factor of the pitch torque (CM+) and more rear cell openings. This new profile of the wing enables a significantly higher top speed, better gliding and more efficiency over the entire speed range. With a somewhat lower trim speed and significantly more top speed compared to the Zeno, it now pulls the same speed and glide with the Enzo 3. Its top speed is high, even significantly higher than that of the original Zeno (we measured 7 km/h more), and only actually necessary when a competition is gliding.
Overall, the Zeno 2 conveys a little more feedback compared to the Zeno, but always does this in an understandable way. It always remains pleasant for pilots in this category and conveys trust. The tightened sensory perception makes it easier to track down the heart of the thermal and feel the air. An optimized interior structure conveys an impressive feeling of cohesion while increasing in thermal turbulence. One advantage of the covid delays is that we had a lot of time for fine-tuning. Exactly as we like: the curve resonance is precise and dynamic, with more agility than the Zeno.
Improved behavior and more cohesion of the sail can already be felt on the ground with its impeccable starting behavior. The Zeno 2 simply fills up in every position on the ground, even with a zero wind. The Zeno 2 is perhaps with the exception of the Zeolite of the two -lines, which is easiest to start.
The Zeno 2 was specially developed for very experienced XC pilots who fly at least 100 hours a year, have solid SIV experiences, are on XC record hunting and need performance at the level of competition.
