For eight years, professional photographer Adi Geisegger has been exploring his adopted home of the Allgäu region with his paramotor. This passion has resulted in countless breathtaking photo series that capture the character of a seemingly small but incredibly diverse region. Seasons, lighting conditions, and perspectives are constantly changing, revealing a unique cosmos of mountains, valleys, hills, clouds, and water.

Description

The book "Einfach Oben – Gleitschirm Bildband" (Simply Above – Paragliding Picture Book) is divided into four expressive chapters : "Above the Clouds," "Sun," "Water," and "The Mountains." These elements are directly related and together form the cycle of life. Clouds bring rain, which shapes the mountains, which in turn give rise to the rivers that have sculpted the valleys. It is precisely this connection that Geisegger wants to show. His goal: to remind people how valuable and diverse our nature is – and that its preservation is crucial for future generations.

The photographs repeatedly surprise with structures and perspectives that seem almost surreal. Fields near Konstanz are transformed into impressionist paintings by wisps of cloud, ice surfaces at the Rottach reservoir appear like delicate brushstrokes, and the drained Forggensee lake is reminiscent of an African desert landscape. More than 100 large-format aerial photographs show the region as you've never seen it before – familiar and yet completely new.
