Even in emergency situations, direct communication and emergency button with the global GeoS GEOS search and rescue control center has a connection at any time and can be reached worldwide. Thanks to inreach technology via the global Iridium satellite network, you can write and receive messages. However, a satellite subscription is required.

Location and navigation in difficult environments is possible thanks to the multi-gnss support together with altitude meters, barometers and compass navigation sensors.

In order not to get into a storm, you can access current weather forecasts directly by mobile phone if there is a connection to Garmin Connect Mobile. With the free Garmin Explore app you can plan your next adventure in detail. Information such as waypoints, routes and activities help you. This app is also possible to synchronize the GPSMap 66i with compatible, mobile devices.
