The Ozone Swift 6 is a lightweight version of the Rush 6. Thanks to lightweight materials and advanced construction techniques, we have been able to reduce the weight of the wing by 900 grams. This reduces glider inertia, increases agility, and improves launch characteristics. Derived from the Alpina 4, the Ozone Swift 6 shares performance development features with the Enzo and Zeno series, offering the highest glide and XC performance in its class.
The SwiftSix is ideal for many pilots. It has EN B certification and is ideal for experienced intermediate recreational pilots and XC pilots who have SIV experience and fly at least 50 hours per year.
Launch characteristics have improved significantly, and its performance in zero wind is comparable to some of our easiest gliders. The Ozone Swift 6 feels light and responsive. Launching in strong winds is effortless, and the wing shows no tendency to overshoot.
In the air, the Ozone Swift 6 is simply fun to fly. It is dynamic, precise, fast, and highly efficient for XC. The first part of the braking distance is very precise, and after that the brakes are very responsive. This impressive agility is supported by a strong wing construction and excellent sail cohesion, resulting in very effective climbing performance.
Thanks to a new profile, an optimized internal structure, and the ACR system, we have been able to improve stability in accelerated flight. The structure of the Ozone Swift 6 is the strongest we have ever designed; even in aggressive turbulence, the profile remains stable, retains its shape and efficiency, and shows no deformation or collapses at the wing tips. The active control risers, which have already proven themselves on the Delta 4, give the pilot absolute control over the angle of attack without deforming the profile cells. ACR risers are connected to the B and C lines, allowing a 3-line glider to be controlled like a 2-liner.
To achieve greater passive safety and a higher fun factor, we have kept the aspect ratio moderate. We have achieved the increase in performance by optimizing the 3/2 line layout, a new additional 3D shape design that divides the leading edge, and modifications to the shape of the panels, the trailing edge, and the construction of the mini ribs – all of which have led to a significant reduction in disruptive influences and paid off in increased glide performance and speed.
Test flights totaling several hundred hours in turbulent conditions in the southern Alps more than satisfied our own uncompromising standards of passive safety. The SwiftSix delivers true performance – real glide and speed in active XC conditions across the entire speed range.
