The Finsterwalder Paralock 3 paragliding carabiner is a next-generation carabiner that offers added safety in dangerous situations. Its release function prevents dangerous interactions between the rescuer and the paraglider and is helpful in emergency landings and strong wind conditions on the ground.

The PARALOCK 3 features a new patented locking mechanism that is easy and safe to use. In addition, the swivel lever can be locked if necessary. Unlike conventional paragliding carabiners, the PARALOCK 3 has a form-fitting closure, which means that the dynamic stress relevant to material fatigue during flight is only a fraction of that of conventional carabiners.

The Finsterwalder Paralock 3 has successfully passed the fatigue test with 2,000 load cycles at 525 DaN overload and then 5 million load cycles at 240.5 DaN at an accredited materials testing institute. This proves its suitability for 5 years of tandem operation with unlimited flight hours. The maximum recommended service life in solo paragliding operation is 8 years, although there is no risk of material fatigue even with longer use.
