Exchange interval

With the Snaplock, Finsterwalder now also offers a paraglider carabiner with the popular twist closure, the permanent vibration strength of which was tested by a correspondingly licensed test institute. Carabiners with such proof are now mandatory for the new registration of harness. So far, only a guarantee of two years or for a limited number of flight hours has been granted for carabiners with conventional closure.
The design of the Snaplock and the high strength of the sized titanium material now enable a guarantee of five years in mono mode and two years in use in tandems.

Safer and easier

14kn even endures the Snaplock harmlessly with an open snapper - this is more than four times as much as the steel paragliding carabiners so far. If the snaplock is burdened with an open closure, this is not an issue. The break load of at least 30 knots with a closed snapper is also a new record. By using the only 76g Snaplock carabiners instead of steel carabiners, a weight reduction of around 150g is reached at the harness.

Strap

The snaplok fits modern light belt witnesses with 25 mm supporting belt width and narrower. However, it also fits for the 44 mm straps that are common in the past, provided that they can be taken and the loops are long enough. This is the case if a rod of at least 20 mm diameter fits through the loop.
The snaplok is mounted on the straps with tight loops on the closure side (See assembly instruction for straps with a carrier width of 44 mm).

Practical:

The simple twist closure has proven to be safe in flight operations and is easy to use because the snapper does not have to be pressed down to open. Since both parts of the Snaplock are closed, the paragliding straps do not get stuck when hooking up and out.

Twist -proof

Due to the striking nose, the Snaplock can be attached to the strap so that a transverse area of the carabiner is reliably prevented. For harness manufacturers there is also the option of attaching back belts over the nose. The back support can be noticeably improved.
