The Alpina series has been used as a reference for a long time when it comes to the lightweight EN-C category. This owes this to her best performance strength and the simple, pleasant handling. The Alpina 4 represents the largest performance gain in this series so far.

The Alpina 4 is more than a kilo lighter than the Delta 4, and 500 grams lighter than its predecessor, the Alpina 3. And that is not only lighter, but much easier. The reduced sailing weight transmits the entire handling and performance gain that arises from the lower inertia- and this creates a really crisp, agile feeling, more sensitivity in climbing and better behavior in rattling. Above all, the Alpina 4 is of course also more pleasant to wear.

Performance

The Alpina 4 has a massive advantage of +12 cm/s sink speed compared to the Alpina 3 during gliding flight at full speed. In calm air, this creates an elevation of an entire umbrella cap every minute. In turbulence, the height gain is even greater, as the Alpina 4 cuts with turbulence with mummy - just like a competition screen. At the top speed, the Alpina 4 3km/h is ahead and flies to Alpina 3 in the accelerated flight.

In active air

Intuitive and efficient control of the angle of attack, an improved wing design and an optimized interior structure make the Alpina 4 an XC sliding machine in turbulence. Its structure is the most robust that we have built so far. Even in aggressive turbulence, the profile remains undisturbed, retains its shape and efficiency without loss of performance through deformations at the wing end.

New ACR system

The new ozone active control strap (“ACR System”), which we have taken over from the Mantra series, enable full control over the attack angle across the entire speed range without deforming the profile chambers. This ACR system acts on B and C lines, and enables 2-linen control with the comfort of a 3-linse design.

Security

This alpina shows the best behavior so far. It is very fold -resistant, even at full speed in turbulence. His behavior after a slapper is the mildest in the Alpina series. We were able to achieve this by keeping the extension relatively low, improved structure and linen architecture and have optimized the screen twist-optimized. In extensive tests, a low tendency for over-shooting or rotating according to a side clatter has been shown, but no shock-like re-filling behavior. The behavior of the Alpina 4 for front raps is excellent and it opens up again immediately.

Thanks to the ozone Sharknose profile, the umbrella is resistant to spinning and stable, and can be safely flown at low speed, which makes top landings or landings into a narrow area for a screen of its class.

Tuned for Joy

Compared to the Alpina 3, handling has improved enormously. The brakes work linearly - precisely in the first sub -area and effective in the second. It is easy to adjust the angle of crossing and to put the umbrella exactly where you want to have it - in the center of the thermal. A strong wing structure and high sailing coachion ensure a very coordinated roller/nod and an agile, exciting feeling that is simply fun.

The pilot

The Alpina 4 is suitable for intermediate and experienced pilots who fly 70-100 hours a year and have experience. Thanks to its simple handling and a large amount of passive security, it is also suitable for pilots who want to work up from a lower category. Very experienced pilots who want to fly with a larger security margin will find a good XC tool in Alpina 4 that shows best performance.
