The Polarheat Light are special, cuddly battery-heated gloves that cover a wide temperature range. They have a particularly strong and highly efficient heating system, which also heats the fingers over the fingertips. The recording with a thermal imaging camera shows the course of the heating wires in the Charly gloves and how to distribute the heat into the whole hand: on the left a cold hand without glove, on the right after a short time in the glove.
In contrast to foil-based heating systems, which due to their low flexibility can only be attached to the hand and finger back, the flexible textile heating wires of the Charly heating gloves run on the side along the fingers and over the fingertips. This is crucial for warming of the whole hand, because the body's reaction is taken into account that the blood is guided away from the extremities inside the body in large cold in order to supply the vital organs there.
The protected positioning of the heating between the fingers also has the advantage that the heat loss is minimized to the outside. As a result, the gloves heat up noticeably warmer and longer.
