The Charly Polarheat Pro 2026 is the latest generation of the proven Polarheat heated gloves for paragliders. Designed for cold and winter paragliding flights, long thermal flights, and challenging XC adventures, they combine powerful electric finger heating with high-quality thermal insulation and waterproof materials.
The redesigned heating wire layout ensures targeted heat distribution all the way to the fingertips. With three adjustable heat settings, high-performance lithium-polymer batteries, and a heating duration that can be extended to up to ten hours, the Charly Polarheat Pro heated gloves provide reliable warmth and comfort even during long flights.
Unlike many heated gloves with heating elements on the back of the hand, the Charly Polarheat Pro uses flexible textile heating wires that run along the sides of the fingers and over the fingertips. This newly developed wire routing technology, combined with a highly effective electric heating system, makes these gloves the top of the line among heated gloves.
This proven Charly technology has been further optimized for the new Pro generation. The protected positioning of the heating elements promotes even heat distribution and reduces heat loss to the outside.
Especially in paragliding, where cold fingers can make it difficult to operate the brakes and flight instruments, this targeted finger heating is a decisive comfort advantage.
The Polarheat Pro battery-powered heated gloves feature three heat settings, which can be selected via an integrated control button. The LED simultaneously indicates the selected heat setting.
| Heat Setting | Heating Wire Temperature | 2 batteries total | 4 batteries total |
| Red – High | approx. 60 °C | up to 1 hr 45 min | up to 3 hrs. 30 min. |
| Blue – Medium | approx. 44 °C | up to 2 hours 30 minutes | up to 5 hours |
| Green – Low | approx. 22 °C | up to 5 hours | up to 10 hours |
The temperatures listed refer to the heating wires and not to the actual temperature on the skin.
Each glove has two battery pockets in the cuff. This allows you to expand the included 14.8-Wh standard batteries with additional batteries.
The Polarheat Pro now also supports optional 19.24 Wh batteries. Using a separately available extension cable, larger battery combinations can be housed outside the gloves—for example, in a jacket pocket.
The Charly Polarheat Pro winter gloves impress not only with their electric heating performance but also with their high-quality passive thermal insulation.
The combination of PrimaLoft insulation, soft Polartec® Micro Fleece, and a waterproof, breathable Hipora membrane keeps your hands warm and dry even when the heating is turned off. The combination of these three high-quality materials creates a highly insulated protective layer against cold and wind.
The supple goat nappa leather ensures a durable yet flexible construction. Large Supergrip reinforcements on the palms, thumbs, and sides protect high-wear areas from premature wear.
When paragliding, winter gloves must not only keep you warm but also allow for precise control of the brakes, risers, and flight instruments.
The Charly Polarheat Pro features pre-shaped fingers, an elastic neoprene panel at the knuckles, and long cuffs with an internal drawcord.
A flat, integrated stopper reduces the risk of paraglider lines getting caught on protruding fasteners.
Touchscreen compatibility on the thumb and index finger ensures excellent smartphone operation. This allows for easy and comfortable use of compatible smartphones and flight instruments without having to remove the gloves.
Practical straps provide additional security by securing the gloves to the wrist.
The Charly Polarheat Pro builds on the proven features of its predecessor and enhances them with a modernized design.
The key improvements include optimized heating wire routing, the new Hipora membrane, touchscreen controls, and the ability to use larger 19.24-Wh batteries.
Those who already own the previous Polarheat model will particularly benefit from the Pro’s improved usability and additional battery options. For pilots looking for new heated paragliding gloves for winter and XC flights, the Polarheat Pro is the more modern choice.
| Size | Hand Circumference |
| S | 18–21 cm |
| M | 20.5–22 cm |
| L | 21.5–23.5 cm |
| XL | 22.5–24.5 cm |
| XXL | 24–26 cm |
Measure the circumference of your hand at the knuckles, excluding the thumb. For sizes in between, Charly recommends choosing the larger size.

This thermal imaging camera footage shows the layout of the heating wires in the CHARLY gloves and how they distribute heat throughout the entire hand: on the left, a cold hand without a glove; on the right, the same hand after a short time in the glove.
Unlike foil-based heating systems, which—due to their limited flexibility—can only be attached to the backs of the hands and fingers, the flexible textile heating wires in CHARLY heated gloves run along the sides of the fingers and across the fingertips. This is crucial for warming the entire hand, as it takes into account the body’s natural response to direct blood away from the extremities and toward the body’s core in extreme cold, in order to supply vital organs.
The protected positioning of the heating elements between the fingers also has the advantage of minimizing heat loss to the outside. As a result, the gloves provide noticeably more warmth that lasts longer.
The Charly Polarheat Pro features an optimized heating wire layout, a waterproof Hipora membrane, and touchscreen-compatible thumbs and index fingers. Additionally, larger 19.24 Wh batteries can be used as an option. The proven PrimaLoft insulation and the expandable battery system remain unchanged.
With one standard battery per glove, the heating duration is up to 1 hour 45 minutes, 2 hours 30 minutes, or 5 hours, depending on the heat setting. With a second battery per glove, the runtime can be extended to up to 10 hours.
Yes. The Polarheat Pro features a waterproof and breathable Hipora membrane. Combined with PrimaLoft insulation and Polartec fleece, they offer excellent weather protection for winter paragliding.
The gloves feature conductive material on the thumb and index finger. This allows you to use compatible touchscreens without having to take off your gloves.
By default, they use dual Li-polymer batteries rated at 7.4 V, 2 Ah, and 14.8 Wh. Additionally, the Pro version supports optional larger batteries with a capacity of 19.24 Wh. You should check their availability before purchasing.
Yes. The combination of electric finger heating, high-quality thermal insulation, and extendable battery life makes them particularly well-suited for long-distance flights in low temperatures.
Yes. Thanks to PrimaLoft insulation, Polartec Micro Fleece, and a waterproof membrane, the gloves provide good thermal insulation even without the electric heating.
The gloves are available in S, M, L, XL, and XXL. Measure the circumference of your hand at the knuckles, excluding the thumb. If you fall between two sizes, Charly recommends choosing the larger size.
