Finsterwalder Brummel hooks made of titanal.

Brummel hooks are well known in sailing. Finsterwalder BRUMMEL HOOKS, which have been specially developed for the paragliding industry, are manufactured according to the same principle. The Finsterwalder BRUMMEL HOOK is used to connect the speed system (foot accelerator) attached to the harness to the paraglider and is therefore also called a speed system hook. Almost all paraglider manufacturers use Finsterwalder BRUMMELHAKEN hooks.

Although Brummel hooks made of titanal are lighter than those made of stainless steel, they also have a strength of over 230 kg. Hooks made of conventional aluminum alloys often do not have sufficient strength.
