DescriptionCompact SOS satellite communication device for paragliding and outdoor activities that supports photo and voice messages.
The Garmin inReach Mini 3 Plus is a compact and rugged satellite communication device for paragliders, hike-and-fly enthusiasts, vol-bivouac adventurers, mountaineers, and outdoor enthusiasts. Using the global Iridium satellite network, you can communicate even when outside cellular coverage, share your location, and send an interactive SOS emergency call to Garmin Response in case of an emergency.
The Plus version significantly expands on the compact inReach concept: Text and voice messages, photo sharing via the Garmin Messenger app, a high-resolution 1.9-inch color touchscreen, physical buttons, and a battery life of up to 350 hours with 10-minute tracking intervals make the Garmin inReach Mini 3 Plus a powerful safety companion for challenging expeditions.
Especially when paragliding, hike-and-fly, or vol-bivouac, you’re often out in areas where there’s no reliable cell service. This is exactly where the Garmin inReach Mini 3 Plus really shines.
With an active inReach satellite subscription, you can send and receive messages via satellite. In addition to text messages, the Plus version also supports voice messages sent directly through the device. Photos can be transmitted via satellite when paired with a compatible smartphone and the Garmin Messenger app.
This allows you to stay in touch with family, friends, or your team even from remote launch sites, in the mountains, or during multi-day trips.
One of the most important features of the Garmin inReach Mini 3 Plus is the interactive SOS emergency call. In an emergency, you can contact Garmin Response—the 24/7 emergency coordination center—via satellite.
Unlike a simple emergency beacon, inReach enables two-way communication. This allows you to exchange information about the situation and coordinate next steps.
For paragliders who frequently fly in the mountains, on XC flights, or on hike-and-fly tours, this independent communication option provides valuable added safety.
The 1.9-inch color display offers a resolution of 306 × 230 pixels and can be operated via touchscreen as well as physical buttons.
Thanks to multiband GNSS and support for GPS, Galileo, QZSS, and BeiDou, the device enables reliable positioning. Additionally, the Garmin inReach Mini 3 Plus features an electronic 3-axis compass.
With the TracBack feature, you can retrace your recorded route back to your starting point. When paired with the Garmin Explore app, you can also access routes and more detailed maps on your smartphone.
Long battery life is essential for extended adventures. Under suitable conditions, the Garmin inReach Mini 3 Plus achieves up to 350 hours of battery life with 10-minute inReach tracking.
In Performance Messaging mode, it can last up to 95 hours.
This makes the satellite communication device particularly well-suited for multi-day hike-and-fly, trekking, and vol-bivouac trips where charging options aren’t always available.
Measuring just 5.5 × 9.8 × 2.67 cm and weighing about 125 g, the Garmin inReach Mini 3 Plus can be easily attached to a harness, backpack, or gear.
The device meets IP67 standards and is protected against dust and temporary submersion. It has also been tested to MIL-STD-810 standards for temperature, shock, and water resistance.
The Garmin inReach Mini 3 Plus is particularly well-suited for pilots and outdoor athletes who want to stay reachable even when out of cellular coverage.
