The Niviuk Jester is Niviuk’s first parakite and was developed for pilots who want to experience dynamic, close-to-the-slope flying and soaring, high speed, and precise handling. With its innovative Parakite System (PKS), a stable reflex profile, and agile control characteristics, the Jester opens up new possibilities for sporty flying along coastlines, in dunes, and on suitable slopes.
Unlike traditional paragliders, the Niviuk Jester allows for direct adjustment of the angle of attack via its special control system. This enables dynamic control over speed, lift, and flight path—from controlled soaring to steep dives and fast, precise turns.
With 53 cells, a designed aspect ratio of 5.5, and five sizes ranging from 14 to 24 m², the Jester combines a high-performance design with exceptionally versatile flight characteristics.
At the heart of the Niviuk Jester Parakite is the specially developed Parakite System (PKS).
This system links brake control via a pulley mechanism to changes in the angle of attack. Unlike with a conventional paraglider, this allows the pilot to influence not only the braking effect but also the aerodynamic orientation of the entire wing.
How it works:
This direct control allows for smooth transitions between acceleration, dynamic flight maneuvers, and flare before landing.
The PKS enables intuitive control for properly trained Parakite pilots. However, safe operation requires a good understanding of its unique flight mechanics.
The Niviuk Jester was specifically developed for dynamic parakiting.
Its agile handling enables quick changes in direction, tight turns, and precise adjustments to the flight path. The Jester really shows its strengths, especially during coastal soaring and when flying along suitable slope structures.
The PKS system allows the pilot to actively change the flight path and switch between different speed and lift conditions.
At low speeds, Niviuk describes the flight behavior as relatively predictable. The progressive brake pressure (control pressure) aids in modulating the flare and enables smooth landings.
The Jester is primarily designed for dynamic flight maneuvers and controlled descents. Nevertheless, in the neutral position, it offers sufficient glide performance for efficient transitions in slope lift.
The specially developed reflex profile supports the Jester’s inherent stability across a wide speed range.
The profile geometry counteracts the tendency to collapse and ensures stable flight characteristics even during dynamic maneuvers.
In addition, Niviuk uses the RAM Air Intake system, which optimizes the internal pressure of the canopy.
The targeted airflow supports:
As a result, the Jester provides a technical foundation for sporty soaring and challenging flight maneuvers.
During parakiting, the wing frequently comes into contact with sand, grass, or the ground. That’s why Niviuk designed the Jester for durability and a consistently stable airfoil shape.
Key design features include:
Automatic cleaning system: An integrated channel along the trailing edge transports sand and debris toward the wing tips, where particles can exit through special openings.
Integrated DRS: Mini-ribs incorporated directly into the trailing edge improve the airfoil shape and reduce exposed seams that could be stressed by frequent ground contact.
Nitinol reinforcements: Dimensionally stable nitinol rods at the leading edge and in the rear section of the profile help maintain a consistently precise wing geometry.
3DL and 3DP technology: Optimized cutouts and three-dimensional shaping reduce wrinkling and improve the aerodynamic surface quality.
This combination makes the Jester particularly appealing.
The Niviuk Jester is designed for pilots seeking dynamic parakiting with precise control and a wide usable speed range.
It is particularly well-suited for experienced soaring pilots, parakite pilots, and paragliders who wish to transition into this flying discipline after completing the necessary training.
The Jester is particularly well-suited for:
Important: The Jester is not a traditional paraglider and requires an active, adapted flying technique. Certification under EN 926-1 is a structural test and not an EN-A through EN-D flight performance classification. Flying close to the ground and performing dynamic maneuvers involve significant risks and require appropriate training and experience.

Note: A transport backpack is not included in the standard package. Depending on the wing size, Niviuk recommends the Expe 45 or Expe 80

The Niviuk Jester is a parakite designed for dynamic soaring, fast turns, and controlled glides. It features a special control system that allows the pilot to adjust the wing’s angle of attack.
The PKS combines brake control with a pulley mechanism for adjusting the angle of attack. When the pilot raises their hands, the glider accelerates and sinks more rapidly. When the pilot lowers their hands, the angle of attack increases, causing the glider to slow down and generate more lift.
The Jester is not a traditional beginner paraglider. It is designed for experienced pilots with appropriate training and knowledge of parakiting. Even experienced paragliders should familiarize themselves with the special control technique before their first flight.
The Jester is available in five sizes: 14, 16, 18, 21, and 24 m². The appropriate size depends, among other factors, on the pilot’s weight, experience, wind conditions, and intended use.
Yes. The Jester has structural certification according to EN 926-1. This is not the same as an EN-A, EN-B, EN-C, or EN-D flight performance classification.
The Niviuk Jester was developed for dynamic soaring on suitable slopes, dunes, and coastal areas. Steady, laminar wind conditions are particularly ideal.
The main difference lies in the Parakite control system. While classic paragliders are controlled primarily via the brakes, the Jester also allows for direct adjustment of the angle of attack. This enables particularly dynamic control over speed, lift, and flight path.
