Description

Ozone Delta 5 (EN-C).

Thanks to its class-leading performance and easy, comfortable handling, the Delta series has long been considered the benchmark in the EN-C category. The Ozone Delta 5 continues this legacy, offering the greatest increase in performance to date, while also delivering the safety, comfort, and easy handling that you would expect from a Delta. These components are what have made it so well-known and popular.

Performance test

The Ozone Delta 5 shows a massive advantage in sink rate over the Delta 4, namely +12cm/s. In calm air, this translates into more altitude per minute. In turbulent air, the performance gain is even greater, as the Delta 5 cuts through turbulence and uses wind gusts to generate altitude, similar to a competition wing. In accelerated flight, the maximum speed of the Ozone Delta 5 is 3 kph higher than that of the Delta 4.

True performance

Thanks to the new profile and optimized internal structure, we have been able to significantly improve solidity in accelerated flight. The intuitive and efficient control of the angle of attack also makes the Ozone Delta 5 a gliding machine. The structure of the Delta 5 is incredibly strong and stable, and the profile remains unaffected even in aggressive turbulence, maintaining its shape and efficiency, and not suffering from a loss of performance due to deformation at the wing tips.

New ACR System

The new Ozone Active Control Risers, which we have adopted from the Mantra series, connect the pilot to the wing and allow for intuitive control. These innovative risers give the pilot full control over the angle of attack of the wing across the entire speed range without deforming the curvature of the profile. They act on both the B and C lines, offering the control level of a 2-liner with the comfort of a 3-liner.

Safety

The Ozone Delta 5 is superbly well-behaved and the most docile of its series to date. The wing is inherently resistant to collapses, even at full speed and in strong turbulence. The Delta 5's behavior after a collapse is the gentlest in its series. Extensive testing has shown only a slight tendency to overshoot or rotate after a side collapse and no shock-like reopening. Its behavior during front collapses is excellent: the wing reopens immediately.

Tuned for flying pleasure

Compared to the Delta 4, the handling of the Ozone Delta 5 has improved enormously. The brakes are linear – precise in the first part of the brake range and effective in the second – making it easy to adjust the bank angle and place the wing exactly where you want it: in the heart of the thermal. Climb efficiency is supported by the strong wing structure and excellent sail cohesion. The wing maintains excellent roll and pitch control even in turbulent thermals, giving an agile and enjoyable feel.

The Pilot

The Ozone Delta 5 is ideal for intermediate and advanced pilots who fly between 70-100 hours per year and have SIV experience. Its easy handling and high level of passive safety also make it accessible to pilots who want to upgrade from an EN-B wing that is at the upper end of the class. Its performance and pure flying pleasure make the Delta 5

the perfect wing for more experienced pilots who want to fly with a higher safety margin: an XC machine with best-in-class performance. that's just plain fun.
