Ozone Vapor Parakite – A Sporty Parakite for Dynamic Soaring

The Ozone Vapor is a versatile intermediate and sport parakite for pilots seeking dynamic soaring, precise handling, and a wide usable speed range. Designed for sport parakiting along coastlines, in dunes, and on suitable slopes, the Vapor combines high stability with agile control and impressive flight performance.

Thanks to innovative Black Sheep Technology (BST), the Ozone Vapor offers direct control over lift, speed, and flight path. Whether you’re enjoying relaxed soaring in steady slope lift or executing dynamic dives and powerful turns—this parakite is highly versatile and adapts to your flying style.

With 55 cells, a balanced aspect ratio, and a robust construction, the Ozone Vapor is a high-performance parakite for pilots who are new to the world of parakiting or who want to take their existing skills to the next level.

Black Sheep Technology – Maximum Control Over Lift

At the heart of the Ozone Vapor parakite is Black Sheep Technology (BST), developed specifically for parakiting.

Unlike a traditional paraglider, this control concept allows for particularly direct influence over lift. The pilot can adjust the flight characteristics between neutral soaring and dynamic flight maneuvers.

The specially developed Reflex Profile Technology supports stability across a wide speed range. A three-line design tailored to parakiting and the special control system enable both gentle and steep dives.

A wooden safety handle is used to deliberately reduce the wing’s performance.

Dynamic Flight Behavior – From Relaxed Soaring to Dives

The Ozone Vapor was designed for a wide range of flight maneuvers.

Around the neutral point, the wing can be steered relatively smoothly and with good control. When more dynamic flight is desired, the special parakite control system enables steeper flight paths, powerful turns, and a controlled build-up of lift.

  • The Vapor really shows its strengths, especially during coastal soaring and on suitable slopes:
  • Direct and agile control responses
  • Stability at various airspeeds
  • Efficient climbing in slope lift
  • Dynamic dives followed by smooth recovery
  • Precise control during low-altitude soaring
  • Wide usable flight envelope

The Vapor is therefore designed for both relaxed soaring and sporty flight maneuvers. Safe operation requires appropriate Parakite training and experience.

Easy launch characteristics and a wide range of use

A distinctive feature of the Ozone Vapor is its straightforward launch behavior.

According to the manufacturer, the wing climbs evenly in both light and stronger winds. This makes it easier to control the wing during launch and makes the Vapor a great choice for a wide range of soaring conditions.

Its moderate aspect ratio ensures a compact, agile wing geometry and supports a highly controllable flying experience.

Despite its accessible characteristics, the Vapor remains a dynamic sport glider that demands an active, anticipatory flying technique at high speeds and during low-altitude maneuvers.

Robust Construction for Intense Parakiting

During parakiting, the wing is particularly frequently exposed to ground contact, sand, salt, and mechanical stress.

That’s why Ozone uses durable materials and reinforced sections in the Vapor. The upper and lower canopies are made of Dominico 30D, while Porcher 9017 E29 is used for the ribs.

The Edelrid 8001 lines complement the robust construction.

This choice of materials makes the Vapor particularly appealing to pilots who regularly fly along coastlines and in dune areas and value durable equipment.

Who is the Ozone Vapor designed for?

The Ozone Vapor is designed for experienced pilots looking for a versatile sport kite for dynamic parakiting and direct feedback.

For experienced paragliders, it can be an interesting introduction to the sport of parakiting, provided they receive appropriate instruction. Pilots with some parakiting experience will benefit from its agility, stability, and wide usable flight envelope.

Important: Ozone explicitly classifies sizes 11 and 13 as speedflying wings, regardless of the pilot’s weight, and they are reserved exclusively for experienced pilots.

The appropriate wing size must be selected on an individual basis based on flying experience, physical condition, terrain, and typical wind conditions.

At Paragliding24.ch, we’re happy to help you choose a suitable Parakite and the right equipment.

FAQ

Who is the Ozone Vapor suitable for?

The Ozone Vapor is suitable for advanced paraglider pilots who want to get started in parakiting with proper instruction, as well as for pilots with some initial parakiting experience. Sizes 11 and 13 are reserved exclusively for experienced speedflying pilots.

What is Black Sheep Technology on the Ozone Vapor?

Black Sheep Technology (BST) is a control concept developed specifically for parakites. It allows for precise adjustment of lift and flight behavior and supports both relaxed soaring and dynamic dives and turns.

What sets the Ozone Vapor apart from a classic paraglider?

The Ozone Vapor was developed specifically for dynamic parakiting. Unlike a classic thermal or XC paraglider, its focus is on a wide usable speed range, direct lift control, and sporty flight maneuvers in slope lift.

Which size of the Ozone Vapor is the right one?

The Vapor is available in sizes 11, 13, 15, 17.5, 20, and 22.5. Ozone deliberately does not specify fixed pilot weight ranges. The decisive factors are your experience, your physical condition, and the terrain and wind conditions in which you plan to fly.

Is the Ozone Vapor suitable for strong-wind soaring?

The Vapor was developed for a wide range of soaring applications. However, the wind conditions that are actually suitable depend on the wing size, the terrain, and your skill level. Strong or turbulent winds require special caution and appropriate experience.

Is the Ozone Vapor suitable for beginners?

The Vapor is not suitable for absolute beginners. It can serve as a first parakite for experienced paragliders with specific parakite training. The small sizes 11 and 13 are reserved exclusively for experienced pilots.

What certification does the Ozone Vapor have?

The Ozone Vapor meets the EN 926-1 standard for strength testing. This certification is not comparable to an EN-A, EN-B, EN-C, or EN-D flight classification.

Is the Ozone Vapor suitable for ground handling?

Yes. Ground handling is an important part of parakite control. The Vapor can be used for this purpose under suitable conditions. Due to its dynamic characteristics, training should be conducted under expert supervision and in an area with sufficient open space.
