For many years, the Ozone Zeno 2 has been at the top of the EN-D class, and we knew that it would not be easy to replace. But after two years of intensive research and design work, we have now developed a worthy successor.
Our main focus was to preserve the legendary comfort and easy handling of the Zeno. That's why the Ozone Zeno 2 has the same number of cells, the same aspect ratio, and even more passive safety – improved response to front and side collapses.
The new technology of the profile of our Ozone Zeno 2 includes a higher pitch moment factor (CM+) and more rear cell openings. This new wing profile enables a significantly higher top speed, better glide, and more efficiency across the entire speed range. With a slightly lower trim speed and significantly higher top speed compared to the Zeno, it now matches the Enzo 3 in terms of top speed and glide. Its top speed is high, even significantly higher than that of the original Zeno (we measured 7 km/h more), and only really necessary during the final glide of a competition.
Overall, the Ozone Zeno 2 providesslightly more feedback than the Zeno, but always in an understandable way. It remains comfortable and confidence-inspiring for pilots in this category. The heightened sensory perception makes it easier to find the heart of the thermal and feel the air. An optimized internal structure provides an impressive feeling of cohesion when climbing in thermal turbulence. One advantage of the Covid delays is that we had a lot of time for fine-tuning. Just the way we like it: the turn response is precise and dynamic, with more agility than the Zeno.
Improved behavior and greater cohesion of the wing are already noticeable on the ground with its impeccable launch behavior. The Ozone Zeno 2 fills easily in any position on the ground, even in zero wind. The Zeno 2 is perhaps the easiest two-liner to launch, with the exception of the Zeolite.
The Zeno 2 was developed specifically for very experienced XC pilots who fly at least 100 hours per year, have solid SIV experience, are chasing XC records, and need competition-level performance.
