Magnetic mount and tension lock for Chase XC or any other Chasecam.

The magnetic mount / tension lock is an alternative solution for attaching Chasecam to your paraglider. It offers more comfort than the classic hook mount, especially in rough conditions. It can be difficult to hook the tiny fabric loop on the trailing edge when icy winds are shaking your paraglider and you have to make a bad or worse decision - do it with clumsy gloves or with frozen bare hands.

Safety is paramount!

The magnetic mount connects the Chasecam quickly and securely to your paraglider, but releases itself when a force of more than 20 N (2 kg) is applied. Chase XC generates an air resistance of about 2N when flying at trim speed. Even if the Chasecam gets stuck for a while, the flexible rope absorbs the impact force so that the tension increases evenly. If the increasing force in the bungee cord is not enough to pull the ChaseCam free of obstacles, the magnetic release disconnects the ChaseCam so that your paraglider is not affected by this minor accident.

Pre-flight check

Before each use, make sure that the magnetic mount is working properly—connect and disconnect the magnetic contact several times. If any particles are caught by the magnets, remove them. Also, make sure that both magnetic parts fit together well; the collar must fit into its groove on the other part.
