Normal variometers have the disadvantage that climbing and decreasing is always shown with a low time delay. In the Mini 5 GPS, the data from different sensors are combined with a complicated mathematical process and the time delay is eliminated. Thanks to the delay -free display of climbing / sinking, finding and centering thermals is much easier than with a conventional variometer.
The XC Tracer Mini 5 also records IGC and KML files, the IGC files are recognized by the FAI for paraglider competitions. And you can view the KML files directly on Google Earth.
Don't be surprised if you never have to charge the Vario throughout a season! The VARIO has a built-in highly effective solar cell and a lithium polymer battery, which is sufficient for approximately 30h continuous operation, including operation of the flarm and fanet, data transmission via BLE and recording of IGC and KML files. And since the battery charges through the solar cell during the flight, autonomy is almost unlimited. If necessary, the battery can also be charged via the supplied USB cable.
With Mini 5, a flarm and fanet are installed that protects you from collisions. You will receive the fanet position signals of yours via your smartphone via the Bluetooth channel of your Mini 5 Buddies And depicts it on your phone.
The XC Tracer Mini 5 is with one Bleed 4.2 Module (Bluetooth Low Energy). So you can easily connect it to the Vario or smartphone via BLE.
A button and that's it. The button is used to switch off the device on and off and change the volume of 0 (no sound) to 4 (loud).
