We have combined the safety of a MID-level EN-B wing with the performance of a HIGH-level EN-C wing. Made entirely from lightweight materials, the wing weighs
just 222g/m². The BUTEO XC has 82 load-bearing ribs and an additional 80 mini-ribs along the upper surface. This arrangement corresponds to a cell count of 162 ribs, which is a design feature of EN-D wings.

The BUTEO XC is designed for all cross-country pilots who value active and passive safety. Performance-oriented flying at the limit is only possible when the pilot and the aircraft form a single unit. The BUTEO XC allows ambitious pilots to enter the world of extremely high-performance wings. In addition, the wing also allows experienced EN-C pilots to push their flying limits, as it offers significantly more safety reserves in fast flight than any other EN-C wing.
The BUTEO XC was developed as the ultimate cross-country wing. This means that we have taken all aspects of flatland and high alpine flying into account. The wing has a moderate trim speed, which allows for flat turns in light thermals. In addition, the BUTEO XC is agile enough to turn out even strong, tight updrafts in difficult conditions. The 162 leading edge ribs create an extremely homogeneous upper surface, which guarantees good gliding characteristics in turbulent air. We have designed the entire concept for the best glide in accelerated flight. Distance flying is all about getting from A to B as quickly as possible, and this is where the BUTEO XC shows its full potential. By using the latest materials, we have been able to reduce the weight of the wing to a minimum.
